Michael Flynn Predicts November 8th Will Be ‘A Day of Reckoning for the Establishment’

The November 8 midterm election will be a day of reckoning for Washington insiders, claimed retired Army General Michael Flynn Saturday.

“In the past, we sadly accepted politics as usual,” General Flynn said in a Saturday post to the messaging app Telegram. “We got used to politicians mouthing promises and then protecting their conniving, scheming backroom deals. No more will we allow them to carry on without any consequences. We the people demand that this next Congress put America First instead of their own personal interests.”

Flynn, who briefly served as former President Trump’s National Security Advisor urged readers to vote like the nation depends on it, which he declared it does.

The red wave expected earlier in the election cycle ebbed after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, making abortion a pressing issue for many liberals. That helped Democrats chances of holding elected offices.

As the election draws nearer, though, persistently high inflation is wreaking havoc with many voter’s standard of living. Inflation, driven higher by U.S.-led sanctions against Russian food, fertilizer and energy products, is near 40-year record highs.

Rightly, or wrongly, many Americans blame President Biden for the rapid rise in basic necessities, which are causing widespread economic hardship. That could be a problem for Democrats because, as one former president famously said, “It’s the economy, stupid!”

Midterm elections traditionally end up costing the party in power because the president is not on the ticket and the base is less motivated. That does not appear to be the case this year. More than 5.8 million ballots for the 2022 midterm election have already been cast in 39 states, according to an October CNN report.

Control of either legislative body only requires a small shift in voter sentiment because the U.S. Senate is evenly divided, so Republicans only need to gain one Senate seat to return to the majority. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., controls the House courtesy of a slim eight member lead over Republicans.

Large voter turnout means elected positions will probably be determined by the party that motivates the most people to get to the polls and vote.
